Option 1: Show one photo ID
Your photo ID:
- Cannot be expired.
- Does not need your current address.
- Must have your signature.
You can show:
- Florida driverās license
- Florida state ID card
- US passport
- Military identificationĀ
- Student identificationĀ
- Public assistance card
- Veterans Affairs health ID (VHIC)
- Retirement center identification
- Neighborhood association identification
- Debit or credit card
- Florida concealed weapon or firearm license
- Government employee ID (issued by US, Florida state, county, or city)
Option 2: Show two forms of ID
If your photo ID from Option 1 doesn’t have your signature, bring an extra identification that has it.
You can show:

Option 3: Ask for a Provisional Ballot
If you can’t show ID from Option 1 or Option 2, ask to vote using a provisional ballot.
Provisional ballots are a backup option to make sure eligible voters are not turned away.
Your provisional ballot counts if:
- You are registered and voting the correct precinct.
- Ā Your signature matches the one election officials have on file.
If your signatures don’t match:
You can fix this ā it’s called “curing” your ballot.
- Bring accepted ID to your county’s election office.
- You have until 5:00 PM, 2 days after Election Day.
- If you meet the deadline, your ballot counts.

IDs for Voting by Mail
Any registered Florida voter can request to vote by mail. Ballot requests must be renewed every two years.
You must give one of these numbers to request your ballot:
- Florida driverās license number
- Florida state ID card number
- Last 4 digits of Social Security number
You do not need to include ID or an ID number with your completed ballot.
The signature on your ballot envelope will be compared to the one election officials have on file.
