Mel Levine is counsel at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He served as a member of the United States Congress from 1983 until 1993 and as a member of the California Assembly from 1977 to 1982. Mel served for seven years as the volunteer President of the Los Angeles Board of Water and Power Commissioners, is currently a member of the Advisory Board of the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California (Berkeley) and the Center on Public Diplomacy at the University of Southern California and is a Director of the Pacific Council on International Policy. He received his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1969, a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University in 1966, and a bachelor’s degree cum laude from the University of California at Berkeley in 1964.
