Mason Hill

University of Maryland Laufer Democracy Initiative Intern

Mason is an intern with VoteRiders’ Voter ID Assistance program team. Mason first discovered a passion for civic engagement through serving as a Youth Advocate for YMCA-USA, where he championed legislation that supported civic health and youth development. More recently, he served as a legislative intern at the Maryland General Assembly, where he gained firsthand experience navigating state government. Originally from Frederick, Maryland, Mason is a rising senior at the University of Maryland and is pursuing a BS in Government and Politics with a minor in Sustainability Studies. On campus, Mason is a DJ at WMUC Radio and the President of Phi Alpha Delta, a gender-inclusive fraternity for those interested in the legal field. In his free time, he loves to check out new hiking destinations and play soccer with friends.
