Chantal Serrano

NYU Democracy Project Fellow


Chantal Serrano is an NYU Leadership for Equity, Action, and Democracy Fellow (LEAD) with VoteRiders, supporting volunteer programs and data operations. Chantal is a passionate advocate for restorative justice, electoral participation, and racial equity. She previously worked as a policy analyst for United We Dream, as a communications intern at Community Change, and as a bilingual tutor for America Reads/Counts. Originally from Los Angeles, Chantal ran for local office and served on the Granada Hills South Neighborhood Council, where she contributed to the homelessness, education, and cultural affairs committees. Chantal earned her BA in Political Science from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, where she co-founded the Student Immigration Justice Coalition. She is a recent graduate of New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School for Public Service, receiving a Master’s in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy and specializing in Advocacy and Political Action.
