Mike Stoller
Member, Board of Trustees
Mike Stoller is one-half of the legendary songwriting team of Leiber and Stoller. Over the course of a 61-year partnership, Mike and the late Jerry Leiber created enduring classics in a variety of genres including rhythm & blues, pop, country, jazz, cabaret, and—perhaps most notably—rock & roll. Elvis (over 20 songs) and The Coasters are only two of the acts whose careers skyrocketed because of Leiber and Stoller’s creative partnership. Comprising 39 Leiber and Stoller songs, Smokey Joe’s Cafe: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller was nominated for seven Tony Awards and is still the longest-running musical revue in Broadway history. Their many acknowledgements include: inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame; and Awards: Grammy, NARAS Trustees, Johnny Mercer, Ivor Novello International Songwriters, World Soundtrack and Songwriters Hall of Fame Towering Song.
