Tell your Senators: Stop the SAVE Act! |
What happened? The House just passed the SAVE Act. This is a voter suppression bill, pure and simple. It would require voters to prove their citizenship using an extremely narrow list of documents. The SAVE Act does nothing to safeguard our elections. But it does make registering and staying registered to vote much harder for millions of eligible citizens. |
What's the problem? Research shows that millions of eligible citizens cannot easily access the documents called for by the SAVE Act. Federal law also already requires voters to verify their identity and US citizenship when registering. So, the SAVE Act is both harmful and unnecessary. |
What can you do? This is a setback, but the fight isn't over yet. Now, the bill moves to the Senate, and we must pressure our Senators to block it. Fill out this form to email your Senators, telling them to stand firm and STOP the SAVE Act. |
