Syene Jasmin knows the importance of voting all too well.
“I stand on the shoulders of my ancestors who fought for this and who couldn’t years ago,” said Black Voters Matter Field Organizer Syene Jasmine.
The group visited several communities in Durham on Friday afternoon to make sure voters are ready for November.
This is the first presidential election where voters will be asked to show ID in North Carolina. Now these volunteers are on a mission to make sure everyone also has the proper ID.
“We can help voters get what they need, and we can even help with cost,” said VoteRiders North Carolina State Coordinator Jenny McKenney.
