Voter ID rules are different based on whether you vote by absentee ballot or in person.
You can vote by mail using an absentee ballot if:
You have to apply with your local election office to receive an absentee ballot. You can request your ballot in person or send a completed application by mail or fax.
Voters who apply for their ballot in person need to show an acceptable photo ID. If you are sick or have a physical disability, you do not need to an ID. This exception also applies if you’re the main caregiver for someone in the same household who has a disability or illness.
If you send your request by mail or fax, you usually do not have to include a copy of ID. You will need to give the last four digits of your Social Security number on your request form.
If you’re voting absentee due to illness or physical disability, you do not need to include an ID with your completed ballot. This exception also applies if you’re the main caregiver for someone in the same household who has a disability or illness.
Missouri does not allow you to return your ballot electronically.
