VoteRiders Georgia Organizer

OVERVIEW

The VoteRiders Georgia Organizer supports our work in Georgia, with a primary focus on supporting and expanding our voter ID assistance work. This will involve working one-on-one with voters to help them obtain ID and underlying documents, organizing onsite Voter ID Clinics, supporting Georgia partner organizations to offer ID help to citizens in the communities they serve, and managing Georgia-based and virtual volunteers to sustain this year-round ID assistance work.

VoteRiders does not maintain a physical office location, but the Georgia Organizer must be based in the Atlanta area to be considered for this position and be able to travel regularly within Georgia. This is a full-time position, available ASAP. The VoteRiders Georgia Organizer will report to the Georgia State Director and work closely with our Voter ID Assistance team, National Outreach Director, and other VoteRiders team members on an as-needed basis. This role does not have staff supervisory responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Voter ID Assistance (VIDA)

  • One-on-one assistance to voters:
    • Organize and attend Voter ID Clinics and other events to directly assist voters with ID needs and provide virtual assistance as needed to community members
    • Lead the collective effort (involving volunteers and other staff as needed) to respond to Georgia ID help requests, including providing timely support for requests and voter questions, and following up on cases through completion
  • VIDA partnership development:
    • Maintain and deepen existing partnerships with VIDA partner organizations, including serving as primary point of contact and supporting partner organization staff and volunteers with VoteRiders’ systems as needed
    • Expand VoteRiders’ VIDA work through growing our partnership base, including recruiting new partner organizations to: host Voter ID Clinics, send us referrals of voters in need of ID help, and conduct ID assistance independently with training and financial support from VoteRiders
  • VIDA volunteer management and support:
    • Recruit and oversee a diverse group of VoteRiders volunteers who can support Voter ID Clinics in-person and virtually, as well as provide virtual ID assistance outside of regular Voter ID Clinic events
    • Serve as primary point of contact for Georgia-based and virtual volunteers/contractors focused on Georgia-area work, including providing support on Georgia ID assistance processes, VoteRiders’ tools and systems, and hosting regular volunteer check-ins

Voter ID Education and Voter Engagement 

  • Seek out and participate in relevant local events, forums, tabling opportunities, and community outreach activities to share voter ID information and raise awareness of VoteRiders’ voter ID assistance work
  • Promote VoteRiders’ tools and services with partner organizations, including our Voter ID Helpline/Chatbot, Georgia Voter ID Information cards, and other partner-facing materials such as flyers and social media graphics.

Team Coordination and Reporting

  • Work closely with the Georgia State Director to implement a cohesive, integrated, and effective metro-wide voter ID education and assistance program
  • Ensure comprehensive reporting on established program metrics of success, including the timely submission of weekly reports, timely follow-up with voters and the timely input of voter data into Zendesk
  • Track and reconcile expenses associated with the organization of program activities
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Lives in (or willing to relocate ASAP to) the Atlanta, GA metro area (relocation funds are not provided)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Experience with casework, and enthusiasm for and comfort with providing one-on-one direct assistance to community members in settings such as shelters and employment centers
  • Experience with creating and maintaining strong partnerships with allied groups and organizations in the community
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed
  • Strong communication skills and highly responsive
  • Strong affinity for voting rights, networking and building strategic partnerships
  • Experience and ability to work with diverse and at-risk communities, and engage directly with individuals in community-based settings

  • Access to a reliable computer, internet signal, and cellphone
  • Strong computer skills, including Slack, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite with aptitude to learn new software and systems

COMPENSATION

Starting salary is $53,000-$63,000/year with comprehensive employee benefits, including:

VoteRiders Houston Organizer

OVERVIEW

The VoteRiders Houston Organizer supports our work in the greater Houston region, with a primary focus on supporting and expanding our voter ID assistance work. OVERVIEW

Founded in 2012, VoteRiders is the country’s leading nonpartisan nonprofit focused on the increasingly crucial issue of voter identification. We implement voter ID education and assistance programs nationwide with a particular focus on states with restrictive voter ID laws and centering the communities most harmed by voter ID requirements. Our on-the-ground programs, partnerships, and digital campaigns raise awareness of voter ID laws, making sure voters know what ID they need to vote in their state and providing completely free ID assistance to voters in need. Our programs identify, educate and help voters with voter ID issues so they can vote with confidence, knowing they cannot be turned away. In the 2024 election cycle our programs directly reached over 15 million voters.

As a Legal Intern at VoteRiders, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role in efforts to respond to threats to voting rights and democracy at both the federal and state levels. While this position is part of the Legal team, you will also work cross-functionally with our Field and Communications teams to support ongoing campaigns. This internship offers the chance to experience legal and policy advocacy rooted in the lived experiences of our clients. 

The ideal candidate is committed to the essential need for and benefit of VoteRiders as a leading non-partisan civic engagement organization in general and to voter ID education and assistance in particular. They will possess expertise in voter ID or voting rights more broadly, and will also have experience designing, implementing, and supporting policy and advocacy work. 

VoteRiders is a fully remote organization, so this individual can be based anywhere in the continental United States.

Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 10–20 hours/week
Duration: Minimum 10 weeks (one semester)
Compensation: Academic credit or university-funded stipend required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track election-related litigation and legislative developments of interest
  • Conduct legal and policy research and analysis on voting rights issues
  • Draft memos, talking points, and communications materials for internal and public-facing use
  • Support the Legal team on ongoing projects such as reports, legislative advocacy and strategy, and coalition work
  • Work closely with Field and Communications teams on ongoing projects and campaigns

 Interns should possess the following:

  • Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school; must have completed at least 1L year 
  • Strong legal and policy research skills with the ability to conduct complex analysis
  • Ability to write for different audiences 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple assignments

INTERNSHIP STRUCTURE

All interns will participate in a structured and supportive experience that includes:

VoteRiders’ National Partnerships Manager

OVERVIEW

VoteRiders’ National Partnerships Manager will lead our overall engagement with national partner organizations, as well as with organizations in states where VoteRiders does not have a staff presence. Leveraging strategic partnerships is a key component of VoteRiders’ work in ensuring that voter ID education and assistance are offered widely to diverse communities across the country. This new role within the organization will deepen and accelerate our existing partnership work in a critical period for voting rights and electoral equity.

The National Partnerships Manager will work closely with the National Outreach Director to design and execute the national and non-presence states outreach plan, and with VoteRiders’ State Directors to ensure that national partnerships translate into strong state-level engagement as well. The National Partnerships Manager will report to the National Outreach Director and can be based anywhere in the continental United States, with a strong preference for candidates residing in or near Washington, DC. This position does not currently supervise any full-time staff members but manages multiple cross-departmental projects and programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner Outreach and Relationship Management

  • Create and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy: Develop and implement a strategic plan for engaging partner organizations nationally and in states without VoteRiders presence. Support a broad and diverse range of partners to effectively incorporate and sustain voter ID education, assistance, and advocacy into their ongoing work.
  • Expand VoteRiders’ impact by building strategic partnerships: Proactively identify, establish, and maintain meaningful partnerships with national and statewide organizations (in states where VoteRiders doesn’t have staff presence). Focus on priority areas to increase adoption of VoteRiders’ resources for voter ID outreach, assistance, and advocacy. Target key partner types including voter engagement groups and direct service providers to amplify our reach and effectiveness.
  • Strengthen partnerships through direct engagement and mutual support: Organize and participate in virtual and in-person events—including presentations, trainings, and webinars—both nationally and in states without a VoteRiders presence. These events will directly engage voters and at-risk communities by offering VoteRiders’ voter ID resources and assistance services.
  • Ensure that national partnerships reinforce and strengthen our field programs, proactively connecting relevant team members to appropriate points of contact to support coordinated in-state virtual and on-the-ground activities.

Policy Monitoring and Engagement

  • Work with partners and VoteRiders’ Legal team to monitor and proactively suggest ways in which to engage with national efforts and efforts in non-presence states regarding legislative developments and advocacy initiatives related to voter ID.

Reporting, Staff, and Program Management

  • Directly manage all aspects of non-presence state programming and work with State Directors as needed to support their work by leveraging national partnerships
  • Develop, track, and report on overall goals and metrics for national and non-presence states for both internal and external audiences, as well as lead organizational resource development for national and non-presence states’ field programs
  • Represent VoteRiders externally at in-person and virtual events in service of the above programmatic goals, including with partners, at conferences and convenings, with the media, and with other stakeholders as needed
  • Liaise cross-functionally with other teams within VoteRiders as needed to ensure mutually reinforcing and successful outcomes and partner relationships are continuously up to date.
  • Provide input into and monitor annual national outreach and non-presence state budgets, including tracking of expenses associated with program activities; provide input and insight to support ad-hoc budget requests and proposals as needed

Organizational Stewardship

  • Tend to internal administrative items (e.g., emails/Slack, timekeeping, expenses, HR)
  • Participate in internal activities (​​e.g., full team meetings, brainstorms, debriefs, culture building activities, and regular check-ins)
  • Engage in organizational and team wide professional development/learning opportunities
  • Meeting planning and facilitation, including creating and leading groups through agendas and effective post-meeting summaries
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned, including assisting with overall organizational efforts and priorities on an ad-hoc basis

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • At least 6 years relevant experience in a similar role, including community organizing experience within the democracy or political space and coalition building experience and at least 3 years in doing so remotely
  • Track record of successfully recruiting, building and maintaining ongoing relationships with external stakeholders including partners, funder, media, etc.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful engagement with and management of campaigns, working groups, coalitions, and any other short or term projects.
  • Ability to build strong and sustainable collaborative relationships that achieve actionable results
  • At least 2 years project management experience, particularly related to managing cross-functional projects in a remote environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, motivation, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details, resourcefully solve problems and follow through with minimum direct supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including precise, compelling and diplomatic speaking ability.

VoteRiders North Carolina State Director

OVERVIEW

The VoteRiders North Carolina State Director leads VoteRiders’ programming in the state and grows our impact there.

This individual works closely with VoteRiders’ National Outreach Director, our National Voter ID Assistance (VIDA) Director and Deputy Director, and our Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director in planning, managing, and executing the North Carolina field program. The North Carolina State Director will lead overall state programming and partnership work, serving as  the primary contact with many state-based partners in North Carolina, including voter engagement organizations and direct service providers that serve communities disproportionately impacted by voter ID laws.

VoteRiders does not maintain a physical office but candidates must be physically based in or willing to relocate to the state of North Carolina, and be able to travel regularly within the state, to be considered for this position. While candidates from across North Carolina  will be considered, we have a preference for candidates based in or willing to relocate to Raleigh. The North Carolina State Director reports to our National Outreach Director. This position currently directly supervises one full-time staff member, the North Carolina Organizer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner Outreach and Relationship Management

  • Develop and implement a state-specific strategic plan for partner organization outreach and engagement, supporting a broad and diverse range of partners to incorporate and sustain voter ID education and assistance in their work
  • Building on previous VoteRiders work in North Carolina: proactively identify, establish, and maintain meaningful partnerships with a growing number of statewide and local organizations to support voter ID outreach and assistance to at-risk communities, including voter engagement groups and direct service providers and leveraging VoteRiders’ ID-focused resources, tools, and services
  • Leverage relationships with North Carolina partners for the benefit of other VoteRiders state programs by forging connections and supporting partnership development in other states

Policy Monitoring and Engagement

  • Working in coalition with partners, monitor in-state legislative developments and initiatives related to voting rights and voter ID laws.
  • Identify strategic ways in which VoteRiders can engage in nonpartisan policy and advocacy activities, and implement policy and advocacy initiatives with support of national-level colleagues.

Voter, Community, and Volunteer Engagement

  • As part of the above-described strategic plan, organize, and join in-state virtual and in-person events to engage voters and at-risk communities directly, offering voter ID education and assistance as needed
  • Proactively offer as well as respond to voter ID information and assistance needs of North Carolina voters, including directly assisting North Carolina voters to obtain their state ID if needed
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and oversight of a diverse group of VoteRiders volunteers who can support VoteRiders activities in the state and virtually, including through the implementation of Voter ID Clinics and the provision of virtual voter ID assistance

Reporting, Staff, and Program Management

  • Lead and maintain organizational resource development and reporting efforts for North Carolina field programs, including weekly reports, metrics collection, new partner tracking, website updates, and other updates as needed for internal as well as external purposes (e.g. Board of Directors, fundraising, etc.)
  • Directly supervise, support, and mentor North Carolina Organizer and ensure that North Carolina field programs are cohesive, coordinated, and effectively implementing and executing all of VoteRiders’ programs at scale to meet set goals
  • Work with the development department for state-specific grant proposals and reporting
  • Develop, track, and report on overall goals/metrics for the state relevant to field programs and other departmental work feeding into North Carolina programs
  • Represent VoteRiders externally, including with partners, the media, and other stakeholders

VoteRiders Pennsylvania Organizer

OVERVIEW

The VoteRiders Pennsylvania Organizer supports our work in Pennsylvania, with a primary focus on supporting and expanding our voter ID assistance work. This will involve working one-on-one with voters to help them obtain ID and underlying documents, organizing onsite Voter ID Clinics, supporting Pennsylvania partner organizations to offer ID help to citizens in the communities they serve, and managing Pennsylvania-based and virtual volunteers to sustain this year-round ID assistance work.

VoteRiders does not maintain a physical office location, but the Pennsylvania Organizer must be based in the Philadelphia area to be considered for this position and be able to travel regularly within Pennsylvania. This is a full-time position, available ASAP. The VoteRiders Pennsylvania Organizer will report to the Pennsylvania State Director and work closely with our Voter ID Assistance team, National Outreach Director, and other VoteRiders team members on an as-needed basis. This role does not have staff supervisory responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Voter ID Assistance (VIDA)

  • One-on-one assistance to voters:
    • Organize and attend Voter ID Clinics and other events to directly assist voters with ID needs and provide virtual assistance as needed to community members
    • Lead the collective effort (involving volunteers and other staff as needed) to respond to Pennsylvania ID help requests, including providing timely support for requests and voter questions, and following up on cases through completion
  • VIDA partnership development:
    • Maintain and deepen existing partnerships with VIDA partner organizations, including serving as primary point of contact and supporting partner organization staff and volunteers with VoteRiders’ systems as needed
    • Expand VoteRiders’ VIDA work through growing our partnership base, including recruiting new partner organizations to: host Voter ID Clinics, send us referrals of voters in need of ID help, and conduct ID assistance independently with training and financial support from VoteRiders
  • VIDA volunteer management and support:
    • Recruit and oversee a diverse group of VoteRiders volunteers who can support Voter ID Clinics in-person and virtually, as well as provide virtual ID assistance outside of regular Voter ID Clinic events
    • Serve as primary point of contact with Pennsylvania-based and virtual volunteers/contractors focused on Pennsylvania-area work, including providing support on Pennsylvania ID assistance processes, VoteRiders’ tools and systems, and hosting regular volunteer check-ins

Voter ID Education and Voter Engagement 

  • Seek out and participate in relevant local events, forums, tabling opportunities, and community outreach activities to share voter ID information and raise awareness of VoteRiders’ voter ID assistance work
  • Promote VoteRiders’ tools and services with partner organizations, including our Voter ID Helpline/Chatbot, Pennsylvania Voter ID Information cards, and other partner-facing materials such as flyers and social media graphics.

Team Coordination and Reporting

  • Work closely with the Pennsylvania State Director to implement a cohesive, integrated, and effective metro-wide voter ID education and assistance program
  • Ensure comprehensive reporting on established program metrics of success, including the timely submission of weekly reports, timely follow-up with voters and the timely input of voter data into Zendesk
  • Track and reconcile expenses associated with the organization of program activities
  • Other duties as assigned

VoteRiders Temporary Policy and Advocacy Manager

OVERVIEW

Founded in 2012, VoteRiders is the country’s leading nonpartisan nonprofit focused on the increasingly crucial issue of voter identification. We implement voter ID education and assistance programs nationwide with a particular focus on states with restrictive voter ID laws while centering the communities most harmed by voter ID requirements. Our on-the-ground programs, partnerships, and digital campaigns raise awareness of voter ID laws, making sure voters know what ID they need to register or vote in their state. We also provide completely free ID assistance to voters in need. Our programs identify, educate and help voters with voter ID issues so they can vote with confidence, knowing they cannot be turned away. In the 2024 election cycle our programs directly reached over 15 million voters. With voter ID and documentary proof of citizenship (DPOC) laws con the rise, VoteRiders expanded its work in 2025 to include nonpartisan policy and advocacy activities around this crucial issue.

We are seeking a Temporary Policy and Advocacy Manager to join our team for an approximately 6 month term while our current Policy and Advocacy Manager is on leave. The Temporary Policy and Advocacy Manager will support the organization’s growing policy and advocacy program and, in particular, provide support on legislative and policy priorities related to voter ID laws and in service of VoteRiders’ mission.

The Policy and Advocacy Manager will report to VoteRiders’ Legal Director. This individual will be the primary internal advocacy resource for VoteRiders staff, providing cross-cutting organizational and capacity-building support across our nationwide programs and work with the Legal Director to continually build VoteRiders’ role in coalition spaces related to voting rights advocacy consistent with 501(c)(3) regulations.

The ideal candidate is committed to the essential need for and benefit of VoteRiders as a leading non-partisan civic engagement organization in general and to voter ID education and assistance in particular. They will possess experience designing, implementing, and supporting policy and advocacy work.

VoteRiders is a fully remote organization, so this individual can be based anywhere in the continental United States. The position of Policy and Advocacy Manager is full-time and the term of employment will be from January 5 until June 30, 2026.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

National and State Voter ID Law Tracking and Analysis

  • Develop knowledge and expertise in voter ID laws, with a particular focus on VoteRiders’ priority states.
  • On an ongoing and continuous basis: research, analyze, and closely monitor all relevant legislation, litigation, and regulations pertaining to voter ID at the federal and state levels.
  • Analyze trends in voter ID- and DPOC-related bills, legislation, ballot initiatives, and litigation across the country and provide regular updates and analysis to VoteRiders leadership and other relevant stakeholders.

Policy and Advocacy Program Support

  • Assist in developing educational materials, including reports, policy statements, talking points, and fact sheets to educate policymakers, partner organizations, stakeholders, and the general public on voting rights issues.
  • Draft legislation, testimony, position papers and advocacy letters.
  • Work closely with VoteRiders staff and partner organizations to effectively engage in coalition work around voter ID and voting rights advocacy.
  • Oversee staff advocacy and lobbying work from a timekeeping and administrative perspective to ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal laws.

Legal Program Support

  • Support the Legal Director in tracking relevant voting rights litigation
  • Assist the Legal Director in managing and expanding VoteRiders’ network of pro bono attorneys
  • Provide ad-hoc support to VoteRiders’ voter ID Helpline/Chat operations as needed

 

Organizational Stewardship

  • Tend to internal administrative items (e.g., emails/Slack, timekeeping, expenses, HR) .
  • Participate in internal activities (​​i.e., full team meetings, brainstorms, debriefs, culture building activities, and regular check-ins with your supervisor) .
